Welcome to The Farmer’s Daughter

background title farmers daughter
Hi, I am Marcia Reardon, The Farmer’s Daughter, (and yes, I really am.) I was a teacher, then a florist–owning my own shop for 15 years–loving every minute of it. Then my four children decided they wanted to go to college, and I had to get a real job. I returned to teaching for a total of 20 years. I loved that too. But the month my youngest graduated from college, my husband and I retired, and the fun began.

Presently, I make one-of-a-kind purses from up-cycled blue jeans. To date I have made nearly 3000 of these original bags. I keep myself fresh by making each one uniquely different–selecting fun fabrics for the lining, and shopping for or creating just the right belt to complete the look. I also do custom embroidery to decorate the bags which makes them great accessories for the sports enthusiast and others with special interests.
 Daisy Jungle Print
Each bag is completely machine stitched, not glued, fully lined, has a hard bottom and a velcro closure. They’re just FUN. Fun to make; fun to carry. I have just recently begun designing end embroidering tote bags and have some pillows and other pretty embroidery for you to look at.
